Sep. 6—Bigger name bands could be heading to Lewiston now that a horse arena is being used for concerts at Rockin' Y Stables and Event Center.
Rockin' Y Stables, formerly Lucky Acres, potentially could accommodate a crowd as large as 4,500 people in its largest arena, which Jay Starnes believes is more than any other indoor venue in Lewiston or Clarkston.
The Nez Perce County Fair Pavilion, in comparison, holds about 2,500.
"It opens the possibility of Lewiston landing acts that are the caliber of Clint Black," Starnes said.
Starnes is the owner of Boomtown American Saloon, Boomers' Garden, Club 301 and Boomers' Sports Cellar in downtown Lewiston. He has been bringing concerts to the area for 17 years.
